Dr. Steven Stroup is a founder of Bach Pharma. In addition to his duties as Chairman of the Board, Dr. Stroup has been and is currently involved in all ongoing studies relating to the Company’s research and development as the Director of US Medical Research.
A self-employed physician, Dr. Stroup was a founder and past board member of both Protherics Limited (formerly Therapeutic Antibodies Inc.) and BSD Medical Inc. He is also a past member of the Board of Governors of the Hospital Corporation of America. Dr. Stroup recently retired as the Director of Radiation Oncology at Sarah Cannon Cancer Center in Nashville, and has been the Chairman and a Director of the Nashville-Davidson County Unit of the American Cancer Society.
Dr. Stroup received his MD at the University of Illinois. He completed his residency in Radiation Oncology at Duke University Center. Dr. Stroup served as Major in the United States Air Force, at Keesler Medical Center. He served as Director, Division of Radiation Oncology at Vanderbilt University from 1974 - 1981. He also holds a degree in Marketing and Management from Southern Illinois University.

Mark O. Henry, MBA, CPA

Mark Henry, a founder of Bach Pharma, is the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, President and a member of the Board of Directors at Bach since its inception in 2001. Mark has been involved in life sciences for over 12 years. He discovered a promising medical technology in Russia while searching for help with a life-threatening illness for a business associate, and championed this technology into Bach’s drug platform.
Mark handles all patent writing for Bach and has co-invented several patents, with numerous patent applications pending. He initiates and monitors Bach’s research and clinical trial projects around the world, collaborates on all grants and medical report writings and translations, and prepares, reviews and monitors budget analysis and appropriations.
Mark was recently invited to become a member of the planning commission of the US-Russian Scientific Health Forum, established in 2010, and has been appointed by the NIH and US Secretary of State and The World Health Organization to help prepare for the November 2011 Conference being held at the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow.
Mark is also a member of The U.S.-Russia Chamber of Commerce of New England, Inc. (USRCCNE). Founded in 1995 to promote business and trade with Russia, USRCCNE is a local organization providing resources for individuals and businesses in order to develop a “network of relationships with Russian regional chambers of commerce.” Mark anticipates Bach becoming a corporate member soon.
Mark started his accounting career with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. (KPMG) in the international department. Mark served as a Vice President of State Street Bank in Boston where he headed up the shareholder accounting department for many of the Bank’s major mutual funds clients. Mark has been a commercial pilot for thirty five years and is the current holder of two USA National Aeronautical Association and two World Speed Records. In 1985 Mark was the recipient of the first St Augustine Award ever bestowed by Merrimack College OSA. Mark joined Bach in 2001 after 27 years as Treasurer for CFI, Inc. Mark has developed several successful businesses, including a large regional CPA firm, a computer service bureau, and two companies in the aircraft industry.
Mark received his Masters degree in Business Administration at Suffolk University. As an undergraduate at Merrimack College, he was awarded the Accounting Society Achievement Award, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. Mark served two terms on the Board of Trustees at Merrimack College and at Lawrence General Hospital.

John T. McLaughlin, JD- General Counsel

John McLaughlin is Bach Pharma's General Counsel. John, who holds joint citizenship in the US and Ireland, has a wide-ranging background in capital, market, real estate and lending transactions. John is also a Managing Member of Irish Financial Group, LLC, where he served as President of its predecessor, Irish Financial Group, Inc. for seven years. Before joining Bach he served as General Counsel for software developer Analytic Solutions.com, Inc. and the multi-state real estate development company Bay Communities. John was a Managing Director at Chubb Financial Solutions, GMAC Commercial Mortgage Corporation and Paine Webber, Inc. (Kidder Peabody). Earlier employment included the investment banking firms Lehman Brothers, Dillon Reed, Goldman Sachs and the law firm of Thacher, Proffitt and Wood.
John received his Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he was a member of the NCAA Division I Championship Lacrosse Team. John received his Juris Doctor from Cornell Law School.

George Hillman, MBA - Senior Development Advisor

Mr. Hillman has over 30 years experience in the financial community with approximately 20 years focused in the life science field. His background spans all aspects of company growth—from concept to financing, corporate development, technology licensing and M&A. George was a co-founder and COO of Cohesive Technologies, acquired by and now part of Thermo Electron. He was the initial employee, EVP and COO of Paratek Pharmaceuticals—a company founded by Stuart B. Levy, M.D and Nobel Laureate Walter Gilbert, Ph.D. now with compounds in advanced clinical trials. Following Paratek, he served as CEO and Board member of Pintex Pharmaceuticals, a company also cofounded by Dr. Gilbert where he completed the acquisition by Vernalis, plc. George was also a co-founder and COO of HemaQuest Pharmaceuticals, a company now based on the west coast, which is also in advanced clinical trials. Mr. Hillman was also engaged as a financial advisor by MaxThera, Inc. recently acquired by Biota, Inc. and Hydrocision, Inc., a medical device company focused in the spine market. Over these 20 years, he has constructed highly profitable deals with early stage venture-backed startups to amass more than $100+ million in aggregated venture capital while securing 10 licensee agreements, 12 research agreements, and 3 sales/mergers, through an extensive network of valuable Fortune 500 industry and Wall Street contacts.
Prior to co-founding Cohesive Technologies and entering the life science field, George served as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Boston Bay Capital, Inc., a boutique financial services brokerage firm that secured in excess of $200 million over a seven-year time frame in private placements for various investment opportunities specializing in historic property rehabs. Prior to Boston Bay Capital, George was employed by Price Waterhouse, an international accounting firm in their tax department. He was responsible for a variety of federal, state and international tax matters for clients across all industries, initially based in Paris, France, and then in Boston Massachusetts.
George received his Masters in Business Administration at Rutgers University in accounting and management and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gannon University.

Barbara A. Stima, BA - Vice President, Administration

Barbara Stima is responsible for the administration of the Corporate Offices in North Andover, Massachusetts, including maintenance of computer systems, research databases, and financial information and reporting. Barbara has over ten years of administration experience in the health care field. She has assisted writing and editing the Company’s scientific documentation for communications, research, translation and grant purposes for over a decade, and has attended numerous scientific and foundation conferences and meetings for the Company. Barbara previously worked as a researcher in the Mutual Funds Transfer Agent Division of State Street Bank in Boston, MA. Barbara was one of the founders and President of CFI, Inc., a service bureau and system development company for various financial applications including payroll and accounting, as well as many municipal services. Barbara completed her Bachelor of Arts, with a major in French, at the University of Massachusetts in Boston, MA.

Joanne M. Ajmo, BS, MS, PhD

Joanne Ajmo is the Supervisor of Clinical and Preclinical Research at Bach Pharma. Joanne received her Bachelor of Science in Cell & Molecular Microbiology at the University of Florida where she had the opportunity to participate in research at the McKnight Brain Institute and co-authored publications on the effects of neonatal exposure to ethanol in relation to fetal alcohol syndrome. Her Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees were obtained at the University of South Florida in Molecular Pharmacology & Physiology. Her dissertation focused on extracellular matrix in the nervous system and its influence on neural plasticity with an emphasis on Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease. She recently completed a postdoctoral appointment with Dr. Min You at the University of South Florida studying the signaling pathways of sirtuins in fatty liver disease, obesity, and diabetes.
