Bach Pharma, Inc. (Bach or Company), a privately held pharmaceutical company, is engaged in the discovery, development, and commercialization of new therapeutics for the treatment of life threatening oxidative stress related diseases and other serious illnesses.
Bach acquired the exclusive rights to proven phthalazinedione technology, and owns all of the intellectual property that encompasses the entire class of phthalazinediones as pharmaceutical agents. Monosodium Luminol is a subclass of phthalazinediones. Bach maintains one of the world’s most active Monosodium Luminol research programs focused on specific compound platforms. In collaboration with several universities and organizations Bach has produced a diverse library of research, preclinical trials and clinical trial reports. As a result of these efforts, Bach has patented therapeutic uses of phthalazinedione, as well as the novel scale up manufacturing processes that define the next-generation of these compounds.
Bach developed and patented several additional molecule derivates of Monosodium Luminol that research has shown to be therapeutically beneficial. Bach developed and patented tools and technologies during this improvement program. Bach researchers learned from the previous owners’ extensive research, then repeated many of their experiments and trials to confirm the studies. During this process Bach identified the mode of action of its compounds and substantially advanced the level of the science.
Bach, in conjunction with M.D Anderson Cancer Center in Texas and the University of Texas, has assisted or supported ongoing studies and trials with the Company’s products. Additional studies have been or are currently underway at Northwestern University, Texas A&M University, Baylor University, Colorado State University, University of Iowa, University of North Carolina, Duke University, University of South Florida, as well as at other universities around the world, especially in Europe.
As per agreements with these research institutions, the Company retains rights to intellectual property associated with the findings of these studies. This research has also contributed to the ongoing expansion of the Company’s intellectual property portfolio.
